Date: 15 October 2023
Location: Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
In a vibrant effort to promote environmental stewardship, Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Melawati hosted a spirited Recycling Awareness Campaign on 15 October 2023. The event, held in the school’s main hall, aimed to inspire young minds about the importance of recycling through active participation and educational exhibits.

The campaign spotlighted the three R’s—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—with large visual displays reinforcing these principles in English and Chinese, symbolizing the inclusive, multicultural nature of the school community. Students dressed in neat school uniforms gathered on stage, proudly showcasing collected plastic bottles as part of the initiative. Behind them, a colorful backdrop featuring Malaysian flags and traditional drums added a rich cultural flair to the occasion.
The atmosphere was electric with enthusiasm as students engaged in interactive sessions about proper waste management and the environmental impact of everyday choices. Teachers and organizers emphasized how small daily actions can contribute to long-term sustainability goals.

This event not only educated students but also underscored the school’s commitment to cultivating responsible and eco-conscious citizens. Judging by the smiles and pride on the children’s faces, it’s safe to say the future of recycling looks a little brighter.
